Film: "Up in the Air"

(2009-109 min.). Rootless Ryan Bingham (George Clooney), who flies back and forth across the country helping companies downsize their staffs, develops feelings for an equally rootless fellow passenger named Alex Goran (Vera Farmiga). Director Jason Reitman scripted with Sheldon Turner, from Walter Kirn's novel. The film earned Oscar nods for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress (Farmiga and Anna Kendrick as Natalie Keener, Bingham’s gung ho trainee).
