Event Details

PWPL invites you to our third outdoor Earth Day celebration at Sunset Park. Back by popular demand, the Library’s own Tony Traguardo will lead a band of local musicians in a rocking concert of well-known hits at the Sousa Bandshell. In addition, representatives from the Town of North Hempstead and other Port Washington environmental organizations will be on site with important information about their latest sustainability initiatives. Stop at their tables to have a conversation. Enter a raffle for a chance to win a TONH rain barrel or a composter for your garden. Take home some cool environmental “swag.” Bring your kids to the children’s table to make a fun eco-craft. For the first time this year we will be holding an environmental photography contest. Most of all, enjoy the music and the water view and find out important ways YOU can make a difference making our community a healthy and sustainable one.
