PWPL is proud to welcome Homer Venters, former Chief Medical Officer of Rikers Island and author of "Life and Death in Rikers Island" and Vivian Nixon, Executive Director of College & Community Fellowship to discuss medical conditions for incarcerated people and opportunities for creating a better future by finding pathways to education. Rebecca Sanin, President/CEO of Health & Welfare Council of Long Island, will moderate the discussion. Dolphin Book Shop will sell copies of Dr. Venters' book at the event.
