Author Event: Julia Phillips - Disappearing Earth

Julia Phillips is a Fulbright fellow whose writing has appeared in The Atlantic, Slate, and numerous other publications. Her debut novel, Disappearing Earth, is garnering rave reviews and was one of the five finalists for the National Book Award For Fiction and long-listed for the 2019 Center for Fiction First Novel Prize.
Pamela Paul’s review in the New York Times states that Disappearing Earth is “An assured and engrossing debut that starts off as a thriller but then turns into a deeper exploration of women, and the way violence affects women’s lives, on the peninsula of Kamchalka.
