The Library is very proud to host author and Port Washington resident, Elon Green, who will discuss his new work of non-fiction, Last Call - A True Story of Love, Lust and Murder in Queer New York. The gripping true-crime narrative, told here for the first time, tells the story of the Last Call Killer and the decades-long chase to find him. And at the same time, it paints a portrait of his victims and a vibrant community navigating threat and resilience. Elon Green has written for The New York Times Magazine, The Atlantic, and The New Yorker and has been the editor at Longform since 2011. Sarah Weinman, award-winning author of The Real Lolita, will moderate the discussion of this gripping true crime story. Signed books will be available for purchase at a generously discounted price of $20.00 thanks to the Friends of the Library. Book sales will be by cash or check only. If you are unable to attend the event in-person, signed copies will be available for purchase during the week following the event. (Sponsored by the Friends of the Library)

This event will take place both in-person as well as virtually over Zoom. The in-person event will take place on the Terrace of the Library and will be limited to 30 seats for health and safety reasons. There will not be a waiting list. The rain date for all those registered will be on Tues. Sept. 14th. We are strongly encouraging all those attending to wear a mask. Masks will be available to those who need them.
