The Whitney Biennial: Even Better Than The Real Thing—a showcase of what’s new in American art—returns to the Whitney for its eighty-first installment in March, 2024. Introduced in 1932 by the Museum’s founder, Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney, the Biennial charts developments in art of the United States and is the longest-running exhibition of its kind. To date, more than 3,600 influential and innovative artists have participated in a Whitney Biennial or Annual.  Professor Thomas Germano will present a visual lecture about the latest, 2024 Whitney Biennial.
