Georgia O’Keeffe (1887-1986) once wrote, “To see takes time.” Best known for her flower paintings, O’Keeffe also made extraordinary series of preliminary multi-media drawings. Throughout a long and prolific career, O’Keeffe revisited and reworked the same subjects, developing, repeating, and transforming motifs that bridge observation and abstraction. O’Keeffe’s many images captured not only nature’s forms but its rhythms. The MoMA’s exhibition (April 9-August 12, 2023) offers a rare glimpse of the artist’s working methods and invites us to take time to look. Professor Thomas Germano will conduct a visual lecture about the artist and her work in the MoMA exhibition.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a 'hybrid' event that can be attended either "In-Person" or "Online" on the Zoom platform. You can choose which option you wish to register for below in the "Do you want to attend in-person or online?" dropdown menu below.
