Event Details

The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Van Gogh’s Cypresses is the first exhibition to focus on the “tall and dark” trees by the famed 19th-century Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh. Such iconic pictures as Wheat Field with Cypresses (The Met) and The Starry Night (MoMA) will be centerpieces among some 40 works including paintings, drawings, and letters.  Join museum educator Alice W. Schwarz in an exploration of van Gogh’s expressive landscapes with trees that inspired him for two years in the south of France in Arles and at the asylum in Saint-Rémy.  (Sponsored by the Friends of the Library)

Please note this event will be in-person only.
