The Musicals of Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick

Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick created several great works for Broadway, including one of the best loved musicals of all time, Fiddler on the Roof (1965). The pair won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama for Fiorello! (1959),a musical biography of Mayor Fiorello La Guardia. She Love Me (1963) is a charming miniature, and shows like The Apple Tree (1966) and The Rothschilds (1970) have moments that showcase the gifts these men had for the theater. Their shows are remarkable for the cohesion of music and lyrics to the story. Marc Courtade will help explore these creators and his talk will use audio and video clips to help us remember some of their great moments of Musical Theater.
