Described by Cole Porter as one of his two “perfect musicals” (the other was Anything Goes), Kiss Me Kate opened in 1948. Sixty years later it remains one of the finest comic adaptations of the works of Shakespeare, as well as the epitome of the Broadway cliché known as the backstage musical. This lecture with Professor James Kolb will feature such well-known songs as “Another Op’nin’, Another Show,” "Why Can’t You Behave?” and “Wunderbar.”
