Join us on President’s DayasDr. James J. Kolb (Professor of Drama, Hofstra University) discusses Sherman Edwards’ 1776. Celebrating its 50th anniversary of its Tony Award winning Broadway debut,1776 is a [musical](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musical_theatre) with music and lyrics by [Sherman Edwards](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sherman_Edwards) and a book by [Peter Stone](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Stone). The story is based on the events surrounding the signing of the [Declaration of Independence](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Declaration_of_Independence).
